Surprisingly, i'm back working nights for a couple of days this week. I had anticipated working a regular week this week since the powers that be are convinced that I do not need to be in at night to coordinate security updates on my network with someone from the states. So, I just moved on and decided that when push comes to shove and my network fails an inspection, i'll just remind them of their hesitation on letting me adjust my schedule to update the network. Well, it seems that a team is here to prepare us for an inspection that all of a sudden included my network. Now it's a huge deal that things are where they need to be and no one has a problem with me coming in at night. Well, I take that back. There is still an assclown that wants to meddle in my work because he wants me to finish up a task that has no set deadline because....well, just because he's a jackass. He claims that another organization would like it up and running so that they can take the next step but I know that's full of crap. He just wants me to do some work and he's going to keep pushing me until I finally cuss his ass out. I'm beginning to really despise the guy since he really isn't my boss yet he keeps asking me for a status on where i'm at with this "project" of his. He's even got another person convinced at the high priority of this task and now i'm being pressured by two people who both fail to realize the importance of my network being up to standard before this stupid server gets built. Anyway, that's work. I just need to bitch because i'm frustrated at having to screw with this stupid server when I should be making sure my network meets the standard in order to avoid any issues with my upcoming vacation. I'm just waiting for the day that they finally come up to me and tell me that they can't let me go on vacation because of this inspection which just happens to be late January. I can't wait to see how i'm going to react. I'm afraid i'll go ballistic and end up choking him because he absolutely gets on my nerves. Let's hope it doesnt come to that.
Other than work, things are going well. Pretty Girl is in Manila for a flight and will be back later on this afternoon when i'll probably be waking up. I had planned on being awake because I was only going to work tonight for a few hours to prepare for this inspection but just found out that everything we had done for the other project was wrong to begin with because of a different version of the operating system. FanFuckingTastic! Now I gotta be here all freaking night unless I want to get a phone call tomorrow by so called assclown asking me when that server is going to get built. Realistically I can have that server built in a few hours. That's if things go well, and everything I need is at my disposal. Unfortunately, I do not have a few key parts in building the server and the email I send up later tonight is going to say that, which means delaying this stupid thing some more. Okay, I said enough about work so that's that.
Speaking of vacation, we might not be going to Italy at all. She's having problems getting her Visa renewed. It's a long story so i'll save internet space and just get to the bottom of it. Bottom line is, we'll find out Thursday when she goes back to the embassy to try yet again to get that visa whether or not we're going to spend Christmas in Italy, or end up in the Philippines. Right now it's 50/50. It could go either way. Don't get me wrong. I'd love to go to Italy to spend Christmas with her and her family. But i'd be okay if we both just spent Christmas in Manila with my family. It'll cost me a lot less money as well which right now I could definitely do with more. Money that is. I guess we'll just let fate decide where we end up. Either way i'll be happy. I get to spend the holidays with someone special. I better not jinx it. Work can totally screw that up too.
